2020-06-29 Communal Swimming Pool Opening Update

Dear Owners

As you may be aware the community of Valencia have agreed that community pools can be reopened subject to the rules outlined in Phase three of the plan for the transition to a new normality.

The use the pool is now permitted but you must comply with the following rules:-

  1. The maximum permitted capacity shall be 75% of the capacity of the facility, provided that the safety distance between users can be respected.

  2. The capacity of the pool is 33 people.

  3. If social distancing cannot be maintained then the capacity will be reduced.

  4. Prior to opening, the facilities must be cleaned and disinfected. This has been arranged with the pool maintenance company.

On those surfaces in frequent contact with the hands of users, such as door knobs of the changing rooms or railings, cleaning and disinfection must be carried out at least three times a day.

  1. Showers may be used, always respecting the minimum safety distance recommended for the prevention of Covid-19. 6. Signs will be in place to remind users of the hygiene and distancing rules.

  2. The pool will be open from 10:00am until 4:00pm and from 5:00pm until 9:00pm allowing a break for cleaning.

One important condition we must comply with is that certain items within the area must be cleaned 3 times a day. We are therefore asking all owners that are using the pool to please take a disinfectant spray and cloth with them to the pool, and clean down the gate, hand rail, chrome steps and shower fixture before and after use.

Please also remember:

  • It is forbidden to use any object inside the pool, hammocks, mats, balls, drinks, food, etc, except for small bottles of water for children.

  • Read the signs in common areas and pool enclosures reminding residents of the safety measures to be taken.

  • I have arranged for the installation of disinfectant gel dispensers at the gates to the swimming pools. Please do not abuse these or remove them.

  • In order for the owners to enjoy the facilities and respect the reduced capacity, we ask that they refrain from inviting people from outside the community.

  • Anyone using the pool does so entirely at their own risk

It is essential that everyone wishing to use the pool does so in accordance with these regulations. Any breach of these regulations will result in the immediate closure of the pool.

Eric Illsley President.
